Self care is NOT selfish — it’s health care. Health and wellness for body and spirit!
You see, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been taking very good care of myself lately. I’m irritable, I’m headachy…it’s how I know…especially when I feel that I cannot breathe and do NOT like the way I’m looking or presenting myself to the world!
I’ve decided to start exercising again, but have to be very careful. My asthma has gotten so bad I am having a hard time moving faster than a brisk walk — or I start wheezing and cannot catch my breath. NOT good. I’m going to have to take things slow.
The only way I will be able to fit in exercising is to get up earlier and go to the gym before I go to work. I am currently having a hard time with that, as that makes me have to go to bed earlier, pack up my stuff before I go to bed AND make sure all of my chores are done too. Ugh. It’s forcing me to make better use of my time, which I got lazy about also.

I am also making sure I wash my face and brush my teeth every night. This includes taking off my makeup and treating my face well and with moisturizer. More time.
I also am taking baths at night for specific purposes. 3X per week, I’m going to try to take ice baths for weight loss and pain management purposes. 2X per week, I am going to take hot “detox” baths. Both types of baths will help me lose weight and just overall feel better.
I am also intermittent fasting 16:8. It’s making me tired, but I’m getting used to that too. I am also drinking a gallon of water per day…which is also messing with my bathroom routine.
Self care takes time and effort, in order to make things work out well. Invest the time in yourself, no matter how impatient you are. It’s definitely an adjustment to fit it in, but soon it will be like it was always there!
