Being a DC Comics girl, ultimate fan of Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn, this is hard for me to admit, so here goes…I just watched the first installment of the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney-At-Law and I think this is a Marvel Universe character I can get behind! Wowza! I only feel kind of guilty. Wonder Woman is still definitely my gal and has been since I was two years of age!
Synopsis: Jennifer Walters is the cousin of Bruce Banner (aka The Hulk) and they end up in a car accident, which exposes Jen to Bruce’s gamma radiation filled DNA. The result, a large green lawyer! Jen, however, can control when she turns into She-Hulk, despite Bruce insisting that she cannot simply just control it. Jen can! However, now that she has Hulk DNA, trouble seems to seek her out and make her ordinary life more than she bargained for!
Jen has a very good grasp on her womanhood. I really love her attitude as a modern woman and an attorney just trying to survive and be successful. She constantly says, “I don’t want to be a superhero” but is ultimately going to become one anyway. I also love how she explains to Bruce how she has learned to control her anger:

I’ve only seen one episode, so I’m intrigued. It’s not perfect though. I would be very careful about watching this with children, as it’s not so PG…more like PG-13 or maybe closer to an R-rating. Bruce and Jen are VERY competitive, as cousins tend to be, but at one point he fakes her out and she falls off of a cliff, flipping Bruce off as she falls. In later episodes she gets into dating apps and at one point carries the guy she chooses into the bedroom. Add a smattering of hard swearing. Again, not for anyone under age 16, if I’m being completely honest.
That being said, I’m now intrigued and vested. Oh, goodness! The second episode is on tonight!!! Yay!!! New episodes uploaded on Disney+ on Thursdays, through October 13th!
