Money falling from the sky

To be fair, I’m going to have to participate more by buying a ticket. We play periodically: buying a PowerBall QP, a Hoosier Lotto, and a scratcher. Sadly, the only lottery I’ve won so far is having all this sparkling personality and in finding my BF. That’s pretty much it. I’m blessed, so I don’t want to sound ungrateful.
God willing, if WE won the lottery, we have it all planned (just in case). My BF and I would accept it and be photographed, wearing masks, that cover our whole head and face. We do NOT want our names published AT ALL. I would think that would bring people out in droves, feeling entitlted to ask for money. I would not immediately quit my job, giving them ample notice, as it takes time for lottery winnings to flow. We would have an attorney, before taking possession of the winnings. We would also want a financial advisor, in order to manage our winnings. Having NO publicity keeps us safe, our kids safe, and our grandchildren safe. People tend to harm or kidnap children/grandchildren of those who win LOTS of money…
My BF and I agree that we would NOT tell our children, as they’re all grown and would want their “cut” immediately and would expect to be setup. We would take care of SOME things, but we want them to lead normal, self-driven lives. He and I are in agreement that we would setup trust funds for our grandchildren, to be claimed as soon as they graduate college or hit age 25. That would keep their parents out of their money and help them to establish their adult lives later on.
I would probably rent a stretch limo and take my co-workers out for a celebration, buying them dinner, on my last day…because, WHY NOT? I’d probably require NDS statements from them, for stating that I won the lottery.
Of course, we’d have investments, taking the payout early, not over 20 years. I mean, I don’t own a crystal ball and have no idea how long my BF and I would live. My BF and I would also have to re-make our wills. We would also have to move from our current location and have security systems installed and a perimeter fence. We wouldn’t go overboard on where we would live (as other lottery winners do, living in multi-million dollar mansions). We want something remote, with fully working amentities, with more than 1600 sq feet of house, but nothing ostentatious. Security systems would be in every child’s/grandchild’s dwelling. We would have an office to do business things, a work out outbuilding, a few guest rooms, and a library…
We would have new, paid for vehicles. He wants a yellow Ford Tonka(TM) truck and I want a brand new Ford Bronco Sport. Nothing ostentatious. People with exotic vehicles get targeted. I want to live like Sam Walton. No frills. I also want a car that doesn’t have to be worked on, on the regular.
We would also not suffer from a regular food deficit like we do now…I struggle to feed us and pay the bills, due to having to pay off a bankruptcy. Food is already ungodly expensive these days AND I have to eat a specific way for my diabetes. We would have constant food in the house, I could plan menus better, and I would splurge on having food deliveries! Food is a struggle that I wish I didn’t have to wrestle with, but many in this country do! I make too much on paper for food stamps, so I sometimes have to rely on food pantries. I would definitely financially support them, especially for diabetic friendly products. food banks offer mainly carbs. I know they’re filling but diabetics and elderly cannot use a lot of the food they give due to that. There’s a huge food deficit in this country, folks! It’s not just the ultra poor, either!
Since winning the lottery would be a definite work of God, I would want to do good things with the winnings. I would definitely start my own business, in order to keep money flowing and to have a purpose, so that goes without saying. There is a coffee shop in town that also sells vinyl records that I would probably buy. I’d LOVE to own that place! I mean, it would be a functioning, profitable business, but it would ultimately be my own personal fancy coffee shop. We love coffee and music! However, I would also want to setup a 501c3 agency for domestic violence victims/survivors. I would also love to be able to not worry about money and write, which is my passion. I would love to be able to call schools and pay off overdue lunch accounts, anonymously. I want to go into the high schools and talk about dating abuse/rape. I would love to be able to pay off some Christmas layaways every year, anonymously. I would love to be able to setup a few DV survivors in new, safe dwellings with working appliances and no pests, helping them to restart their lives. I would love to start a sanctuary for elderly dogs/cats, for people who dump them, so they could have a happy last few days/weeks/years.
I pray that God blesses us by winning the lottery, but am happy with any blessings I’m bestowed. I work hard for everything that I have and that I want.
