Welcome to National Novel Writing Month! I am participating! I sign-up every year, but don’t quite get the writing done like I want to. This year, I’m doing more. I may not reach the 50,000 words, but I’m going to do more than I ever have.

What is the purpose of NaNoWritMo? According to their site, here is their explanatory blurb: National Novel Writing Month began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days. Now, each year on November 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with a first draft. They enter the month as elementary school teachers, mechanics, or stay-at-home parents. They leave novelists. And now you can too!

So, in time for another writing contest, I am utilizing my NaNoWritMo time to work on a submission for Narratively.com, where author Stephanie Land will be judging entries. The deadline is by 9 p.m. EDT on November 30, 2023 (via Submittable). I may not place, but it would be an honor to have Stephanie Land read my work. I was always taught, “ask not, want not.” So I’m going to put my story out there into the universe, just like Stephanie Land did, and see what happens!

Love and light! <3
