Starting in 2017, Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence (BTSADV) recognized a need for survivors of domestic abuse to be educated in money management and financial security. They started the Grants of Hope project to provide financial education to survivors of domestic abuse, helping them gain economic independence, as financial abuse is often prevalent, as well as re-gaining financial control after escaping an abusive relationship.

Each year in October, BTSADV selects 10 applicants to participate in a 6-week mentorship program with a financial mentor. After the 6-week course, each mentee will receive a $1,000.00 grant for any expense they choose. Apply in October, during DV Awareness month, at the link above.
