PROMPT: Where is the best place to watch the sunset near you?

I wish I could say I live along the beach, but that is NOT the case. I live in landlocked Indiana. There is, however, a winding river…

Water is something that revives me. I love walking alongside the Ohio River and feeling the breeze, walking while the sun sets. I can hear the water lapping up on shore, the swallows calling to one another.

The downtown river walk is breezy and smells musky and of algae. The sunlight slants and gets brighter, before dipping behind the horizon and becoming dusk. The victorian-looking street lamps flicker on, due to the lack of light and cast an amber glow on the cobblestones of the walkway.

There are park benches, where many sit and watch the sun set. Not me, I want to actively take it in, absorbing scraps of sunlight as I lengthen my stride. Depending on the time of year, the sun and I may race to see who finishes more quickly.

They saw the sunlight looks different, depending on the part of the world you’re in…I believe it, because nothing looks quite like the setting sun, descending in the Ohio River Valley.

As the sun sets on my 2023 Bloganuary adventures, I will be back for 2024! This is the sunrise of my Blog and I am ready! Love and light! <3
