PROMPT: What Color Describes Your Personality and Why?
So, while growing up, I was a tomboy. I was not a pink girl, because I was not a girly-girl. I was not a black girl, because I didn’t feel like a goth-girl. I wasn’t a blue girl, well, because everyone liked blue. Red was too aggressive for me, as I was a laid back girl. I did like purple, but not enough to say it was my favorite color and orange was too obscure and attention-seeking. Green. Green was my color, because I was a garden girl, a roll-in-the-grass girl. Yes, green was my color.
I felt as though green was natural and full of life. Green represented growth for me. Green meant food, through gardening and farming. I was the type of child that spent all of her time outside. I was outside so much, my Mom would have to threaten me to get me into the house at night. I still love it as an adult and love yard work (and, yes, I know I’m odd). There’s something therapeutic in working with the dirt and plants outside.
I later liked green because of Kermit the Frog and the Muppet Show. That was my favorite show at the time and Kermit was my favorite amphibious host. I even loved his song, “It’s Not Easy Being Green” and could sing all of the words.
In his song, Kermit starts off disliking his ‘green-ness,’ but ends it with appreciating it for all the good that it truly is:

When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold-
or something much more colorful like that.
It’s not easy being green.
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over ’cause you’re not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water-
or stars in the sky.But green’s the color of Spring.
And green can be cool and friendly-like.
And green can be big like an ocean, or important like a mountain, or tall like a tree.
When green is all there is to beIt could make you wonder why, but why wonder why?
Wonder, I am green and it’ll do fine, it’s beautiful!
And I think it’s what I want to be.
I was also once told by psychic that my aura was green with tinges of blue. For whatever reason, I like green. It’s a part of my soul!
